Idol' beats out Big 3 in ratings race
With President Barack Obama’s press conference disrupting the Big 3 networks’ 8 p.m. programming, Fox was easily the champ Wednesday night — although the net would’ve been tops anyway with an elimination round of “American Idol” soundly defeating all competitors.
“Idol” earned a 7.5 rating/19 share in the 18-49 demo, where 21.8 million viewers tuned in to see Matt Giraud say goodbye. Also in the same 9 p.m. timeslot, the 100th episode of “Lost” (3.9/10, 8.8m) was the second-highest rated show of the night, yet it wasn’t enough for ABC to overtake CBS.

American Idol Ratings - Tuesday, April 27, 2009

Fox won the Tuesday night 18-49 ratings race behind a solid one-two punch of “American Idol” and “Fringe.” “Idol” (7.9/22, 22.5 million viewers overall) lost a little more than a million viewers from a week ago but was still dominant while “Fringe” (4.2/10, 10.6m) saw a slight uptick in the demo and total viewers.

Sparks’ self titled debut album is certified platinum in the U.S. The disc produced hit singles “Tattoo,” “No Air” featuring Chris Brown, and “One Step At A Time.”

A benefit event for the Gibson Girl Foundation with live performances, a silent auction and dinner. Silent auction will include items donated by renowned bands such as The Fray and New Kids on the Block; fabulous travel packages and tickets to top Vegas shows, including a meet and greet with the headliners themselves; and a live in-home concert with Deborah Gibson.

Pop & Broadway Star Deborah Gibson; Ryan Black of 88s Cabaret; Celebrity performers and friends, including Lorenzo Lamas and Jonathan Knight of New Kids on the Block; and Students from Deborah Gibsons Electric Youth, including Casey Lee Smith and American Idol Finalist Mishavonna Henson.

Gibson Girl Foundation awards scholarships to qualifying individuals who desire to attend an entertainment camp, but are unable to afford camp tuition. In 2008 alone, Gibson Girl Foundation provided more than $75,000 in scholarships to kids in need allowing them to attend Deborah Gibsons Electric Youth Summer Camp in LA as well as songwriting intensives, recording boot camps, and the NYC Winter Camp.

Jennifer Hudson to perform on The Today Show May 15, 2009

No Doubt, Dave Matthews Band, All-American Rejects, Flo Rida, Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson are among the bands and musicians scheduled to appear on NBC's "Today" as part of the morning television show's 14th annual summer concert series.

The 2009 "Toyota Concert Series on Today" kicks off May 1 with No Doubt, the band's first live concert appearance since reforming after a five-year hiatus. The concert series runs every Friday throughout the summer.

The early morning concert events take place in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, just outside "Today's" Window on the World Studio. Viewing for fans is free on a first come, first serve basis.
